Managing Director

"Proceed as if success is inevitable."

Crikey, where do we start! Laura first created The Office Rocks as a Virtual Assistant business back in January 2014 after the birth of her 3rd baby. Having been a stay at home mum for 5 years at this point she was ready for a new challenge. Spending a lot of her spare time on social media and reading blogs Laura was fascinated by the idea that an online profile could have so much influence. Before she knew it she had created a small community page for parents living in Sunderland, Sunderland Parents. On the back of this she began to pick up work managing the social media accounts for other small businesses, at which point she created The Office Rocks. After only 6 months Laura was approached by a local tech startup to join them as their Social Media Manager. After a whirlwind 10 months Laura made the bold decision to venture back into the world of self employment and reinvented The Office Rocks as a Digital Marketing Agency specialising in affiliate marketing.

In another life I would be: On Hollyoaks

Tea or coffee: Cappuccino but I’m only allowed 2 otherwise I get way too hyperactive!

Dream holiday: Visiting the Galapaos islands – totally on my bucket list.

Item I can’t live without: Mascara – OMG, it is not a good look.

In my Oscar’s acceptance speech I would thank: Apart from the obvious as in my husband and children blah blah blah it would have to be my Gran in Law – the most fabulous woman I have ever met who has taught me that it ALWAYS pays to be kind and that no matter what life throws at you, pick yourself up and get on with it!

My hidden talent is: I can move one eye without the other one moving – it’s pretty gross really.

Cats or dogs? Cats or dogs or cats or dogs. I like them both really.

The last thing I did that pushed me out of my comfort zone: Spoke at International Women’s Day about my journey – very scary but an amazing experience.

My guilty pleasure is: Sneezing – I love it so much.

If I had a superpower it would be: Invisibility so that I could spy on everyone – imagine that!

I’m known in the office for: Being a bit loud, messy, hyper and coming up with too many new business ideas – they love it all really.
